The Kernouvé meteorite (also spelled Kernouve, Keranroué, or Cléguérec) is one of the better-known historical meteorite falls in France. It fell on 22 May 1869 near the hamlet of Keranroué in the commune of Cléguérec, in the department of Morbihan.
Contemporary reports describe a bright fireball accompanied by loud detonations, typical of a meteorite entering the atmosphere at high speed and fragmenting before impact. Witnesses heard explosive sounds over the area, and meteorite fragments were subsequently recovered near the village. Historical accounts of the event were later reproduced by astronomer Camille Flammarion and in the proceedings of the French Academy of Sciences.
The total recovered mass was about 80 kilograms.
