Czech Republic (2015)

On december 24, 2015, a bolide brighter than the full moon was observed by thousands over a large part of central Europe and recorded photographically at 7 Czech stations of the European Fireball Network.

Two small fresh meteorites were soon recovered less than 100 m apart for a total mass of 45 grams only near the village of Zdar Nad Sazavou.

Me and Fabien Kuntz headed to Czech Republic in march 2015 for a week. We stayed in a hotel in Nové Veseli, right into the strewnfield. For several days, we walked in the forests, fields but couldn’t find any stone. We could meet also Sergey Vassiliev who came with us for two days.

A really nice trip, good food and nice people.
